Self-Awareness
Self-awareness is the ability to consciously recognize and understand your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, as well as how they influence your actions and interactions. This process isn’t just about observing your emotions; it’s about digging deeper.
Perspective-Taking
Perspective-taking is the ability to step outside of your viewpoint and consider how a situation might be experienced by someone else. It’s more than imagining what another person feels—it’s an intentional effort to understand their thoughts, emotions, and circumstances.
Action-Oriented Temperment
Becoming self-aware and considering perspectives is not easy—it requires peeling back the layers of your beliefs and stories, which often color your perceptions and shield underlying emotions. This process takes intentional reflection, like journaling, mindfulness, or asking questions such as, what patterns do you notice in your relationship and driving your decisions?
